Autism: Core Concepts for Primary Care Part 1 supports providers in the screening, diagnosis and management of patients with an autism spectrum disorder and related developmental delays. During this series we will discuss the updated prevalence of autism in the U.S., the need for universal screening and the common screening instruments. Other topics include the ABCs of behavior and how behavior is maintained or reduced over time, how history and physical evaluations help identify developmental conditions, and the benefits of genetic testing. Resources and referral information will be shared throughout the series.

Sessions include a brief didactic presentation by an expert and discussion of participants-submitted cases. Participants are highly encouraged to submit de-identified patient cases for group discussion and expert consultation.
